The following day he entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.


He commanded them to be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ.  Then they asked him to stay for a few days.


Now those who had been scattered as a result of the persecution that started because of Stephen made their way as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch,  speaking the word to no one except Jews.


They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company, and Barnabas took Mark  with him and sailed off to Cyprus.


After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, ‘Brothers, you are aware that in the early days God made a choice among you,  that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the gospel message and believe.


The next day we left and came to Caesarea, where we entered the house of Philip  the evangelist,  who was one of the Seven, and stayed with him.


Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus by birth, the one the apostles called Barnabas (which is translated Son of Encouragement),


Philip appeared in  Azotus,  and he was travelling and preaching the gospel in all the towns until he came to Caesarea.


Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews  , and fellow prisoners.  They are noteworthy in the eyes of the apostles,  and they were also in Christ before me.


I appeal to you, instead, on the basis of love. I, Paul, as an elderly man  and now also as a prisoner  of Christ Jesus,
