We set out from the River Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month to go to Jerusalem. We were strengthened by our God,  , and he kept us from the grasp of the enemy and from ambush along the way.


If they say #– #‘Come with us! Let’s set an ambush  and kill someone. Let’s attack some innocent person  just for fun!


for wicked men live among my people. They watch like hunters  lying in wait.  , They set a trap; they catch men.


Then the news about him spread throughout Syria.  So they brought to him all those who were afflicted, those suffering from various diseases and intense pains, the demon-possessed, the epileptics, and the paralytics.  And he healed them.


and from there to Philippi,  a Roman colony and a leading city of the district of Macedonia. We stayed in that city for several days.


During the night Paul had a vision in which a Macedonian man was standing and pleading with him, ‘Cross over to Macedonia and help us! ’


After staying for some time, Paul said farewell to the brothers and sisters and sailed away to Syria, accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila. He shaved his head at Cenchreae because of a vow he had taken.


After these events, Paul resolved by the Spirit  to pass through Macedonia and Achaia and go to Jerusalem. ‘After I’ve been there,’ he said, ‘it is necessary for me to see Rome as well.’


After the uproar was over, Paul sent for the disciples, encouraged them, and after saying farewell, departed to go to Macedonia.


serving the Lord with all humility, with tears, and during the trials that came to me through the plots of the Jews.


And when he had passed through those areas and offered them many words of encouragement, he came to Greece


After we sighted Cyprus, passing to the south of it,  we sailed on to Syria and arrived at Tyre, since the ship was to unload its cargo there.


asking for a favour against Paul, that Festus summon him to Jerusalem. They were, in fact, preparing an ambush along the road to kill him.


Because of this confidence, I planned to come to you first,  so that you could have a second benefit,


On frequent journeys, I faced dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers,  dangers from my own people,  dangers from Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, and dangers among false brothers;


In fact, when we came into Macedonia,  we  had no rest. Instead, we were troubled in every way: conflicts  on the outside, fears  within.


Afterwards, I went to the regions of Syria  and Cilicia.
