For I have chosen  him so that he will command his children and his house after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. This is how the Lord will fulfil to Abraham what he promised him.’


A voice of one crying out: Prepare the way of the  Lord in the wilderness; make a straight road for our God in the desert.


This is what the Lord says: Stand by the roadways and look. Ask about the ancient paths, ‘Which is the way to what is good? ’ Then take it and find rest for yourselves. But they protested, ‘We won’t! ’


Let whoever is wise  understand these things, and whoever is insightful recognise them. For the ways of the  Lord are right, and the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.


A voice of one crying out in the wilderness: Prepare the way for the Lord; make his paths straight!   ,


When they came, they said to him, ‘Teacher, we know you are truthful and don’t care what anyone thinks, nor do you show partiality  but teach the way of God truthfully. Is it lawful to pay taxes  to Caesar or not? Should we pay or shouldn’t we? ’


so that you may know the certainty of the things about which you have been instructed.  ,


(And when all the people, including the tax collectors, heard this, they acknowledged God’s way of righteousness, because they had been baptised with John’s baptism.


and said, ‘You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery, you son of the devil  and enemy of all that is right. Won’t you ever stop perverting the straight paths  of the Lord?


As she followed Paul and us she cried out, ‘These men, who are proclaiming to you  a way of salvation, are the servants of the Most High God.’


He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. After Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside  and explained the way of God to him more accurately.


About that time there was a major disturbance about the Way.


‘Into what then were you baptised? ’ he asked them. ‘Into John’s baptism,’ they replied.


But when some became hardened and would not believe, slandering the Way in front of the crowd, he withdrew from them, taking the disciples, and conducted discussions every day in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.


and requested letters  from him to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any men or women who belonged to the Way,  he might bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.


Do not lack diligence in zeal; be fervent in the Spirit;  , serve the Lord.


No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in the concerns of civilian life; he seeks to please the commanding officer.


Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.


I did this to test Israel and to see whether or not they would keep the Lord’s way  by walking in it, as their ancestors had.’


‘As for me, I vow that I will not sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you.  I will teach you the good and right way.
