As they were going out, they found a Cyrenian man named Simon. They forced him to carry his cross.


In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, while Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea,  Herod was tetrarch  of Galilee,  his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Iturea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,


They did this, sending it to the elders  by means of Barnabas and Saul.


After they had completed their relief mission, Barnabas and Saul returned to  Jerusalem, taking along John who was called Mark.


But Saul #– #also called Paul #– #filled with the Holy Spirit, stared straight at Elymas


Both Judas and Silas, who were also prophets themselves, encouraged the brothers and sisters and strengthened them with a long message.


But Paul and Barnabas, along with many others, remained in Antioch, teaching and proclaiming the word of the Lord.


And when Paul had laid his hands on  them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began to speak in tongues  and to prophesy.


This man had four virgin daughters who prophesied.


Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus by birth, the one the apostles called Barnabas (which is translated Son of Encouragement),


Now Saul was still breathing threats and murder against the disciples  of the Lord. He went to the high priest


Timothy,  my co-worker, and Lucius,  Jason,  and Sosipater,  my fellow countrymen, greet you.


Every man who prays or prophesies with something on his head dishonours  his head.


If I have the gift of prophecy  and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains,  but do not have love, I am nothing.


Love never ends.  But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.


Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should evaluate.


And the prophets’ spirits are subject to the prophets,


Or do only Barnabas  and I have no right to refrain from working?


Then the rest of the Jews  joined his hypocrisy,  so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.


When James,  Cephas,  , and John   #– #those recognised as pillars   #– #acknowledged the grace that had been given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to me and Barnabas, agreeing that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.


And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,


All the saints send you greetings, especially those who belong to Caesar’s  household.
