Also, the power of God was at work in Judah to unite them  to carry out the command of the king and his officials by the word of the Lord.


He began the journey from Babylon on the first day of the first month  and arrived in Jerusalem on the first day of the fifth month  since the gracious hand of his God was on him.


Since the gracious hand of our God was on us,  they brought us Sherebiah   #– #a man of insight from the descendants of Mahli, a descendant of Levi son of Israel #– #along with his sons and brothers, 18 men,


I told them how the gracious hand of my God had been on me,  and what the king had said to me. They said, ‘Let’s start rebuilding,’ and their hands were strengthened  to do this good work.


And let me have a letter written to Asaph, keeper of the king’s forest, so that he will give me timber to rebuild the gates of the temple’s fortress,  the city wall, and the home where I will live.’  , The king granted my requests, for the gracious hand of my God was on me.


Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the  Lord   been revealed?


Indeed, the Lord’s arm is not too weak to save, and his ear is not too deaf to hear.


All who heard about him  took it to heart, saying, ‘What then will this child become? ’ For, indeed, the Lord’s hand was with him.


for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit  and of faith. And large numbers of people were added  to the Lord.


Therefore, in my judgement, we should not cause difficulties for those among the Gentiles who turn to God,


praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number  those who were being saved.


But many of those who heard the message believed, and the number of the men  came to about five thousand.


Believers were added to the Lord in increasing numbers #– #multitudes of both men and women.


So the word of God spread, the disciples in Jerusalem increased  greatly in number, and a large group of priests became obedient to the faith.


So all who lived in Lydda and Sharon  saw him and turned to the Lord.


because our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit,  and with full assurance. You know how we lived among you  for your benefit,
