We will cut logs from Lebanon, as many as you need, and bring them to you as rafts by sea to Joppa. You can then take them up to Jerusalem.


and many nations will come and say, ‘Come, let’s go up to the mountain of the  Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us about his ways So that we may walk in his paths.’ For instruction will go out of Zion and the word of the  Lord from Jerusalem.


Then  they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor’s headquarters.  It was early morning. They did not enter the headquarters themselves; otherwise they would be defiled and unable to eat the Passover.


‘How is it that you, a Jew,  ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan  woman? ’ she asked him. For Jews do not associate with  Samaritans.


and said, “Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your acts of charity have been remembered in God’s sight.


So I immediately sent for you, and it was good of you to come. So now we are all in the presence of God to hear everything you have been commanded by the Lord.’


Now send men to Joppa and call for Simon, who is also named Peter.


He will speak a message to you by which you and all your household  will be saved.”

After there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, ‘Brothers, you are aware that in the early days God made a choice among you,  that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the gospel message and believe.


During the night Paul had a vision in which a Macedonian man was standing and pleading with him, ‘Cross over to Macedonia and help us! ’


Peter stayed for some time in Joppa with Simon,  a leather tanner.


‘But get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.’
