Absalom did this to all the Israelites who came to the king for a settlement. So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.


All the people took note of this, and it pleased them. In fact, everything the king did pleased them.


Then the crowds who went ahead of him and those who followed shouted: Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!


Pilate asked them, ‘What should I do then with Jesus, who is called Christ? ’ They all answered, ‘Crucify him! ’


His mother’s relatives spoke all these words about him in the hearing of all the citizens of Shechem, and they were favourable to Abimelech, for they said, ‘He is our brother.’
