Joseph could no longer keep his composure in front of all his attendants,  so he called out, ‘Send everyone away from me! ’ No one was with him when he revealed his identity to his brothers.


‘Bring the meal to the bedroom,’ Amnon told Tamar, ‘so I can eat from your hand.’ Tamar took the cakes she had made and went to her brother Amnon’s bedroom.


Then Tamar went to his house while Amnon was lying down. She took dough, kneaded it, made cakes in his presence, and baked them.


For everyone who does evil hates   the light and avoids it,   so that his deeds   may not be exposed.
