David also defeated Hadadezer  son of Rehob, king of Zobah, when he went to restore his control at the River Euphrates.


Then he placed garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became David’s subjects and brought tribute. The Lord made David victorious wherever he went.


Now King Ben-hadad  of Aram assembled his entire army. Thirty-two kings,  along with horses and chariots, were with him. He marched up, besieged Samaria,  and fought against it.


When Hadadezer’s subjects saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with David and became his subjects. After this, the Arameans were never willing to help the Ammonites again.


Lord, your hand is lifted up to take action, but they do not see it. Let them see your zeal for your people and be put to shame. Let fire consume your adversaries.


Your Majesty, you are king of kings.  The God of the heavens has given you sovereignty, power,  strength, and glory.


At that time Joshua turned back, captured Hazor, and struck down its king with the sword, because Hazor had formerly been the leader of all these kingdoms.


They will stand far off in fear of her torment,  saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the mighty city! For in a single hour your judgement has come.
