Run out to meet her and ask, “Are you alright? Is your husband alright? Is your son alright? ” ’ And she answered, ‘It’s all right.’


So Gehazi pursued Naaman. When Naaman saw someone running after him, he got down from the chariot to meet him and asked, ‘Is everything all right? ’


But they replied, ‘That’s a lie! Tell us! ’ So Jehu said, ‘He talked to me about this and that and said, “This is what the Lord says: I anoint you king over Israel.” ’


Now the watchman  was standing on the tower in Jezreel. He saw Jehu’s mob approaching and shouted, ‘I see a mob! ’ Joram responded, ‘Choose a rider and send him to meet them and to ask, “Do you come in peace? ” ’


So he sent out a second horseman, who went to them and said, ‘This is what the king asks: “Do you come in peace? ” ’ Jehu answered, ‘What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me.’


When you get there, look for Jehu  son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi. Go in, get him away from his colleagues, and take him to an inner room.


When Joram saw Jehu he asked, ‘Do you come in peace, Jehu? ’ He answered, ‘What peace can there be as long as there is so much prostitution and sorcery from your mother Jezebel? ’


Truth is missing, and whoever turns from evil is plundered. The Lord saw that there was no justice, and he was offended.


“The Lord has appointed you priest in place of the priest Jehoiada to be the chief officer  in the temple of the Lord, responsible for every madman  who acts like a prophet. You must confine him in the stocks  and an iron collar.


The days of punishment have come; the days of retribution have come. Let Israel recognise it! The prophet is a fool, and the inspired man is insane, because of the magnitude of your iniquity and hostility.


When his family  heard this, they set out to restrain him, because they said, ‘He’s out of his mind.’


Many of them were saying, ‘He has a demon  and he’s crazy. Why do you listen to him? ’


Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also debated with him. Some said, ‘What is this ignorant show-off  trying to say? ’ Others replied, ‘He seems to be a preacher of foreign deities’ #– #because he was telling the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.


As he was saying these things in his defence, Festus exclaimed in a loud voice, ‘You’re out of your mind,  Paul! Too much study is driving you mad.’


We are fools for Christ, but you are wise in Christ!  We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonoured!


For if we are out of our mind,  it is for God; if we are in our right mind,  it is for you.
