The officials then said to the king, ‘This man ought to die, because he is weakening the morale  of the warriors who remain in this city and of all the people by speaking to them in this way. This man is not pursuing the welfare of this people, but their harm.’


You’re not considering that it is to your  advantage that one man should die for the people rather than the whole nation perish.’


Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me, and do so severely, if anything but death separates you and me.
