‘ “After that, if you obey all I command you, walk in my ways, and do what is right in my sight in order to keep my statutes and my commands as my servant David did, I will be with you.  I will build you a lasting dynasty just as I built for David,  and I will give you Israel.


Asa did what was right in the Lord’s sight, as his ancestor David had done.


For David did what was right in the Lord’s sight, and he did not turn aside from anything he had commanded him all the days of his life,  except in the matter of Uriah  the Hethite.


And Solomon replied, ‘You have shown great and faithful love to your servant, my father David, because he walked before you in faithfulness, righteousness, and integrity.  You have continued this great and faithful love for him by giving him a son to sit on his throne,  as it is today.

Josiah was eight years old  when he became king, and he reigned for thirty-one years in Jerusalem.


Even a young man is known by his actions – by whether his behaviour is pure and upright.


Don’t turn to the right or to the left; keep your feet away from evil.


The word of the Lord that came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of Hezekiah,  in the days of Josiah  son of Amon,  king of Judah.


‘Be careful to do as the Lord your God has commanded you; you are not to turn aside to the right or the left.


Above all, be strong and very courageous to observe carefully the whole instruction my servant Moses commanded you.  Do not turn from it to the right or the left, so that you will have success wherever you go.
