5 The Lord afflicted the king, and he had a serious skin disease until the day of his death.  He lived in quarantine,  , while Jotham,  the king’s son, was over the household governing the people of the land.

May it hang over Joab’s head and his father’s whole family, and may the house of Joab never be without someone who has a discharge or a skin disease,  or a man who can only work a spindle,  or someone who falls by the sword or starves.’


So David reigned over all Israel, administering justice and righteousness for all his people.


All Israel heard about the judgement the king had given, and they stood in awe of the king because they saw that God’s wisdom  was in him to carry out justice.


So give your servant a receptive heart to judge  your people and to discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of yours? ’

‘Be careful with a person who has a case of serious skin disease, following carefully everything the Levitical priests instruct you to do. Be careful to do as I have commanded them.
