Not only do we run a risk that our business may be discredited, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis may be despised and her magnificence come to the verge of ruin #– #the very one all of Asia and the world worship.’


Therefore, let us no longer judge one another.  Instead decide never to put a stumbling block or pitfall in the way of your brother or sister.


If others have this right to receive benefits from you, don’t we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right; instead, we endure everything  so that we will not hinder the gospel of Christ.


To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some.


Indeed, this is our boast: The testimony  of our conscience  is that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially towards you, with godly sincerity and purity, not by human wisdom  but by God’s grace.


We are taking this precaution so that no one will criticise us about this large sum that we are administering.
