Streams flowing with water will be on every high mountain and every raised hill on the day of great slaughter when the towers fall.


See, I have appointed you today over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and demolish, to build and plant.


‘Is not my word like fire’ #– #this is the Lord’s declaration #– #‘and like a hammer that pulverises rock?


So Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in his speech and actions.


The night is nearly over, and the day is near;  so let us discard the deeds of darkness  and put on the armour of light.


And do not offer any parts  of it to sin  as weapons for unrighteousness. But as those who are alive from the dead, offer yourselves to God,  and all the parts of yourselves to God as weapons for righteousness.


so that your faith might not be based on human wisdom but on God’s power.


Who serves as a soldier at his own expense?  Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Or who shepherds a flock and does not drink the milk from the flock?


For if I boast a little too much about our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up  and not for tearing you down, I will not be put to shame.


This is why I am writing these things while absent, so that when I am there I may not have to deal harshly with you, in keeping with the authority the Lord gave me for building up  and not for tearing down.


It is not that we are competent in  ourselves to claim anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God.


Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power  may be from God and not from us.


by the word of truth,  , by the power of God;  through weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left,


But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled  and put on the armour  of faith and love, and a helmet  of the hope of salvation.


Timothy, my son, I am giving you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies  previously made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the good fight,


Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
