No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful;  he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation he will also provide the way out  so that you may be able to bear it.


just as you have partially understood us #– #that we are your reason for pride,  just as you also are ours  in the day of our  Lord Jesus.


For I fear that perhaps when I come I will not find you to be what I want, and you may not find me to be what you want. Perhaps there will be quarrelling,  jealousy,  angry outbursts, selfish ambitions,  slander,  gossip, arrogance, and disorder.


I now rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because your grief led to repentance. For you were grieved as God willed, so that you didn’t experience any loss from us.


if we endure, we will also reign  with him; if we deny him, he will also deny us;


along with the persecutions and sufferings  that came to me in Antioch,  Iconium,  and Lystra.  What persecutions I endured #– #and yet the Lord rescued me from them all.


Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown  of life that God  has promised to those who love him.


I, John, your brother and partner in the affliction,  kingdom,  and endurance  that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
