Then Zedekiah son of Chenaanah made iron horns and said, ‘This is what the Lord says: You will gore the Arameans with these until they are finished off.’


Micaiah replied, ‘You will soon see when you go to hide in an inner chamber on that day.’


So Pashhur had the prophet Jeremiah beaten and put him in the stocks  at the Upper Benjamin Gate  in the Lord’s temple.


Let him offer his cheek to the one who would strike him; let him be filled with disgrace.


Now, daughter who is under attack, you slash yourself in grief; a siege is set against us! They are striking the judge  of Israel on the cheek with a rod.


Then some began to spit on him, to blindfold him, and to beat him, saying, ‘Prophesy! ’  The temple servants  also took him and slapped him.
