And the Lord said, “Who will entice King Ahab of Israel to march up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? ” So one was saying this and another was saying that.


‘Now, you see, the Lord has put a lying spirit into the mouth of  these prophets of yours, and the Lord has pronounced disaster against you.’


‘Very well,’ the Lord told Satan, ‘everything he owns is in your power. However, do not lay a hand on Job himself.’ So Satan left the Lord’s presence.


‘Very well,’ the Lord told Satan, ‘he is in your power; only spare his life.’


You are of your father the devil,   and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer   from the beginning   and does not stand in the truth,   because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature,   because he is a liar and the father of lies.


We are from God. Anyone who knows God listens to us;  anyone who is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.


So the great dragon was thrown out #– #the ancient serpent,  who is called the devil and Satan,  the one who deceives the whole world.  He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.


It deceives those who live on the earth  because of the signs that it is permitted to perform in the presence of the beast,  telling those who live on the earth to make an image  of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.


and will go out to deceive the nations  at the four corners of the earth,  Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle.  Their number is like the sand of the sea.


God sent an evil spirit  between Abimelech and the citizens of Shechem. They treated Abimelech deceitfully,
