They did this, sending it to the elders  by means of Barnabas and Saul.


Then after they had fasted, prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them off.


And when Paul had laid his hands on  them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began to speak in tongues  and to prophesy.


as both the high priest and the whole council of elders can testify about me. After I received letters from them to the brothers, I travelled to Damascus to arrest those who were there and bring them to Jerusalem to be punished.


They had them stand before the apostles, who prayed  and laid their hands on  them.


Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.


Timothy, my son, I am giving you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies  previously made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the good fight,


Practise these things; be committed to them, so that your progress may be evident to all.


The elders who are good leaders are to be considered worthy of double honour,  especially those who work hard  at preaching and teaching.


Don’t accept an accusation against an elder unless it is supported by two or three witnesses.


Don’t be too quick to appoint  , anyone as an elder, and don’t share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.


Fight the good fight  of the faith. Take hold of eternal life  to which you were called and about which you have made a good confession in the presence of many witnesses.


Therefore, I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is in you through the laying on of my hands.
