Absalom’s servants came to the woman at the house and asked, ‘Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan? ’ ‘They passed by towards the water,’  the woman replied to them. The men searched but did not find them, so they returned to Jerusalem.


Once again, Abner warned Asahel, ‘Stop chasing me. Why should I strike you to the ground? How could I ever look your brother Joab in the face? ’


Ahab said to Elijah, ‘So, my enemy, you’ve found me, have you? ’ He replied, ‘I have found you because you devoted  yourself to do what is evil in the Lord’s sight.


Then Herod, when he realised that he had been outwitted by the wise men, flew into a rage. He gave orders to massacre all the boys in and around Bethlehem who were two years old and under, in keeping with the time he had learned from the wise men.


So then, have I become your enemy because I told you the truth?


When Saul sent agents to seize David, Michal said, ‘He’s ill.’


When the agents arrived, to their surprise, the household idol was on the bed with some goat hair on its head.


Then the king ordered the guards standing by him, ‘Turn and kill the priests of the Lord   because they sided with David. For they knew he was fleeing, but they didn’t tell me.’ But the king’s servants would not lift a hand to execute the priests of the Lord.


When the woman saw Samuel, she screamed, and then she asked Saul, ‘Why did you deceive me? You are Saul! ’
