Joab gave the king the total of the registration of the troops. There were eight hundred thousand valiant armed men  from Israel and five hundred thousand men from Judah.


So King Joram marched out from Samaria at that time and mobilised all Israel.


The leaders  of all the people and of all the tribes of Israel presented themselves in the assembly of God’s people: four hundred thousand armed foot soldiers.


He told the messengers who had come, ‘Tell this to the men of Jabesh-gilead: “Deliverance will be yours tomorrow by the time the sun is hot.” ’ So the messengers told the men of Jabesh, and they rejoiced.


Then Samuel went  from Gilgal to Gibeah in Benjamin. Saul registered the troops who were with him, about six hundred men.


Then Saul summoned the troops and counted them at Telaim: two hundred thousand foot soldiers and ten thousand men from Judah.
