Your gods are indeed as numerous as your cities, Judah,  and the altars you have set up to Shame  ,  #– #altars to burn incense to Baal #– #as numerous as the streets of Jerusalem.


Has a nation ever exchanged its gods? (But they were not gods!  ) Yet my people have exchanged their   Glory for useless idols.


But where are your gods you made for yourself? Let them rise up and save you in your time of disaster if they can, for your gods are as numerous as your cities, Judah.


They drank the wine and praised their gods made of gold and silver, bronze, iron, wood, and stone.


So when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, ‘Who is it you want me to release for you #– #Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ? ’


But in the past, since you didn’t know God,  you were enslaved to things  that by nature are not gods.


For the Lord your God is the God of gods  and Lord of lords,  the great, mighty, and awe-inspiring God, showing no partiality and taking no bribe.


He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god  or object of worship,  so that he sits  in God’s temple, proclaiming that he himself is God.
