For you took collateral  from your brothers without cause, stripping off their clothes and leaving them naked.

Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction  or distress or persecution  or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?


Don’t we have the right to eat and drink?


In fact, you put up with it if someone enslaves you, if someone exploits  you, if someone takes advantage of you, if someone is arrogant towards you, if someone slaps  you in the face.


We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;


I know how to make do with little, and I know how to make do with a lot.  In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content #– #whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need.


along with the persecutions and sufferings  that came to me in Antioch,  Iconium,  and Lystra.  What persecutions I endured #– #and yet the Lord rescued me from them all.
