He was afraid and said, ‘What an awesome place this is! This is none other than the house of God. This is the gate of heaven.’


Moreover, because of my delight in the house of my God, I now give my personal treasures of gold and silver for the house of my God over and above all that I’ve provided for the holy house:


‘Do not come closer,’ he said. ‘Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.’


Our holy and beautiful   temple, where our ancestors praised you, has been burned down, and all that was dear to us lies in ruins.


This is the law of the temple: All its surrounding territory on top of the mountain  will be especially holy. Yes, this is the law of the temple.


‘Therefore, as I live’ #– #this is the declaration of the Lord God  #– #‘I will withdraw and show you no pity, because you have defiled my sanctuary  with all your abhorrent acts and detestable practices.  Yes, I will not spare you.


I will turn my face from them as they profane my treasured place. Violent men will enter it and profane it.


‘You must keep the Israelites from their uncleanness, so that they do not die by defiling my tabernacle  that is among them.


I will turn  against that man and cut him off from his people, because he gave his offspring to Molech, defiling my sanctuary  and profaning my holy name.


Her prophets are reckless   – treacherous men. Her priests profane the sanctuary; they do violence to instruction.


But a person who is unclean and does not purify himself, that person will be cut off from the assembly because he has defiled the sanctuary of the Lord.  The water for impurity has not been sprinkled on him; he is unclean.


Don’t you yourselves know that you are God’s temple  and that the Spirit of God lives in you?


Let no one deceive  himself. If anyone among you thinks he is wise in this age,  let him become a fool  so that he can become wise.
