26 What then, brothers and sisters? Whenever you come together, each one  has a hymn, a teaching, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation.  Everything is to be done for building up.

Now I don’t want you to be unaware,  brothers and sisters, that I often planned to come to you (but was prevented until now  ) in order that I might have a fruitful ministry  among you,  just as I have had among the rest of the Gentiles.


if service,  use it in service; if teaching,  in teaching;


So then, let us pursue what promotes peace  and what builds up one another.


Each one of us is to please his neighbour for his good, to build him up.


What then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with my understanding. I will sing praise with the spirit, and I will also sing praise with my understanding.


For the person who speaks in a tongue  , is not speaking to people but to God, since no one understands him; he speaks mysteries in the Spirit.


If anyone speaks in a tongue, there are to be only two, or at the most three, each in turn, and let someone interpret.


But everything is to be done decently  and in order.


Have you been thinking all along that we were defending ourselves to you? No, in the sight of God we are speaking in Christ, and everything, dear friends, is for building you up.


This is why I am writing these things while absent, so that when I am there I may not have to deal harshly with you, in keeping with the authority the Lord gave me for building up  and not for tearing down.


to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ,


From him the whole body, fitted and knit together  by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth  of the body for building itself up in love by the proper working of each individual part.


No foul language should come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need,  so that it gives grace to those who hear.


speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music with your heart to the Lord,


Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.
