Bride: May my beloved enter into his garden, and eat the fruit of his apple trees.


Groom: I said, I will ascend to the palm tree, and take hold of its fruit. And your breasts will be like clusters of grapes on the vine. And the fragrance of your mouth will be like apples.


And the Lord of hosts will cause all the peoples on this mountain to feast on fatness, to feast on wine, a fatness full of marrow, a purified wine.


All you who thirst, come to the waters. And you who have no money: hurry, buy and eat. Approach, buy wine and milk, without money and without barter.


And taking the seven loaves and the fish, and giving thanks, he broke and gave to his disciples, and the disciples gave to the people.


Now while they were eating the meal, Jesus took bread, and he blessed and broke and gave it to his disciples, and he said: "Take and eat. This is my body."


For this is my blood of the new covenant, which shall be shed for many as a remission of sins.


Similarly also, he took the chalice, after he had eaten the meal, saying: "This chalice is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.


The cup of benediction that we bless, is it not a communion in the Blood of Christ? And the bread that we break, is it not a participation in the Body of the Lord?


But let a man examine himself, and, in this way, let him eat from that bread, and drink from that cup.
