Then Ahimaaz, the son of Zadok, said, "I will run and report to the king that the Lord has accomplished judgment for him, from the hand of his enemies."


Hushai appeared. And approaching, he said: "I bear good news, my lord the king. For today the Lord has judged for you, from the hand of all who had risen up against you."


And they brought the head of Ishbosheth to David in Hebron. And they said to the king: "Behold, the head of Ishbosheth, the son of Saul, your enemy, who was seeking your life. And so, the Lord has avenged my lord the king, this day, from Saul and from his offspring."


Alleluia. I will confess to you, O Lord, with my whole heart, in the council of the just and in the congregation.


Throughout every single day, I will bless you. And I will praise your name, in this time and forever and ever.


The Praise of a Canticle, of David himself. Come, let us exult in the Lord. Let us shout joyfully to God, our Savior.


For it is necessary for him to reign, until he has set all his enemies under his feet.


Vengeance is mine, and I will repay them in due time, so that their foot may slip and fall. The day of perdition is near, and the time rushes to appear.'
