Now Jehovah said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto the land that I will show thee:


Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.


And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.


And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.


He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.


And every one that hath left houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit eternal life.


If any man cometh unto me, and hateth not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
