² H4428And now, behold, the kingH1980walketh[H8693] H6440beforeH2204you: and I am old[H8804] H7867and grayheaded[H8804] H1121; and, behold, my sonsH1980are with you: and I have walked[H8694] H6440beforeH5271you from my childhoodH3117unto this day.

³ H6030Behold, here I am : witness[H8798] H3068against me before the LORDH4899, and before his anointedH7794: whose oxH3947have I taken[H8804] H2543? or whose assH3947have I taken[H8804] H6231? or whom have I defrauded[H8804] H7533? whom have I oppressed[H8804] H3027? or of whose handH3724have I received any bribeH5956to blind[H8686] H5869mine eyesH7725therewith? and I will restore[H8686]  it you.

⁴ H559And they said[H8799] H6231, Thou hast not defrauded[H8804] H7533us, nor oppressed[H8804] H3947us, neither hast thou taken[H8804] H3972oughtH376of any man'sH3027hand.

⁵ H559And he said[H8799] H3068unto them, The LORDH5707is witnessH4899against you, and his anointedH5707is witnessH3117this dayH4672, that ye have not found[H8804] H3972oughtH3027in my handH559. And they answered[H8799] H5707, He is witness.

⁶ H8050And SamuelH559said[H8799] H5971unto the peopleH3068, It is the LORDH6213that advanced[H8804] H4872MosesH175and AaronH5927, and that broughtH1your fathersH5927up[H8689] H776out of the landH4714of Egypt.

⁷ H3320Now therefore stand still[H8690] H8199, that I may reason[H8735] H6440with you beforeH3068the LORDH6666of all the righteous actsH3068of the LORDH6213, which he did[H8804] H1to you and to your fathers.

⁸ H3290When JacobH935was come[H8804] H4714into EgyptH1, and your fathersH2199cried[H8799] H3068unto the LORDH3068, then the LORDH7971sent[H8799] H4872MosesH175and AaronH3318, which brought forth[H8686] H1your fathersH4714out of EgyptH3427, and made them dwell[H8686] H4725in this place.

¹⁰ H2199And they cried[H8799] H3068unto the LORDH559, and said[H8799] H2398, We have sinned[H8804] H5800, because we have forsaken[H8804] H3068the LORDH5647, and have served[H8799] H1168BaalimH6252and AshtarothH5337: but now deliver[H8685] H3027us out of the handH341of our enemies[H8802] H5647, and we will serve[H8799]  thee.

¹¹ H3068And the LORDH7971sent[H8799] H3378JerubbaalH917, and BedanH3316, and JephthahH8050, and SamuelH5337, and delivered[H8686] H3027you out of the handH341of your enemies[H8802] H5439on every sideH3427, and ye dwelled[H8799] H983safe.

¹² H7200And when ye saw[H8799] H5176that NahashH4428the kingH1121of the childrenH5983of AmmonH935came[H8804] H559against you, ye said[H8799] H4428unto me, Nay; but a kingH4427shall reign[H8799] H3068over us: when the LORDH430your GodH4428was your king.

¹³ H4428Now therefore behold the kingH977whom ye have chosen[H8804] H7592, and whom ye have desired[H8804] H3068! and, behold, the LORDH5414hath set[H8804] H4428a king over you.

¹⁴ H3372If ye will fear[H8799] H3068the LORDH5647, and serve[H8804] H8085him, and obey[H8804] H6963his voiceH4784, and not rebel[H8686] H6310against the commandmentH3068of the LORDH4428, then shall both ye and also the kingH4427that reigneth[H8804] H310over you continue followingH3068the LORDH430your God:

¹⁵ H8085But if ye will not obey[H8799] H6963the voiceH3068of the LORDH4784, but rebel[H8804] H6310against the commandmentH3068of the LORDH3027, then shall the handH3068of the LORDH1be against you, as it was against your fathers.

¹⁶ H1571Now thereforeH3320stand[H8690] H7200and see[H8798] H1419this greatH1697thingH3068, which the LORDH6213will do[H8802] H5869before your eyes.

¹⁷ H2406Is it not wheatH7105harvestH3117to dayH7121? I will call[H8799] H3068unto the LORDH5414, and he shall send[H8799] H6963thunderH4306and rainH3045; that ye may perceive[H8798] H7200and see[H8798] H7451that your wickednessH7227is greatH6213, which ye have done[H8804] H5869in the sightH3068of the LORDH7592, in asking[H8800] H4428you a king.

¹⁸ H8050So SamuelH7121called[H8799] H3068unto the LORDH3068; and the LORDH5414sent[H8799] H6963thunderH4306and rainH3117that dayH5971: and all the peopleH3966greatlyH3372feared[H8799] H3068the LORDH8050and Samuel.

¹⁹ H5971And all the peopleH559said[H8799] H8050unto SamuelH6419, Pray[H8690] H5650for thy servantsH3068unto the LORDH430thy GodH4191, that we die[H8799] H3254not: for we have added[H8804] H2403unto all our sinsH7451this evilH7592, to ask[H8800] H4428us a king.

²⁰ H8050And SamuelH559said[H8799] H5971unto the peopleH3372, Fear[H8799] H6213not: ye have done[H8804] H7451all this wickednessH5493: yet turn not aside[H8799] H310from followingH3068the LORDH5647, but serve[H8804] H3068the LORDH3824with all your heart;

²¹ H5493And turn ye not aside[H8799] H310: for then should ye go afterH8414vainH3276things, which cannot profit[H8686] H5337nor deliver[H8686] H8414; for they are vain.

²² H3068For the LORDH5203will not forsake[H8799] H5971his peopleH1419for his greatH8034name'sH2974sake: because it hath pleased[H8689] H3068the LORDH6213to make[H8800] H5971you his people.

²³ H595Moreover as for meH2486, God forbidH2398that I should sin[H8800] H3068against the LORDH2308in ceasing[H8800] H6419to pray[H8692] H3384for you: but I will teach[H8689] H2896you the goodH3477and the rightH1870way:

²⁴ H3372Only fear[H8798] H3068the LORDH5647, and serve[H8804] H571him in truthH3824with all your heartH7200: for consider[H8798] H1431how great things he hath done[H8689]  for you.

²⁵ H7489But if ye shall still[H8687] H7489do wickedly[H8686] H5595, ye shall be consumed[H8735] H4428, both ye and your king.
