Psalm 94 - Easy To Read Version

¹ Lord, you are a God that punishes people.\par You are a God who comes\par and brings punishment to people.\par

² You are the judge of the whole earth.\par Give proud people the punishment they deserve.\par

³ Lord, how long will wicked people\par have their fun?\par How much longer, Lord?\par

⁴ How much longer will those criminals\par brag about the bad things they did?\par

⁵ Lord, they hurt your people.\par They made your people suffer.\par

⁶ Those bad people kill widows\par and foreigners living in our country.\par They murder children that have no parents.\par

⁷ And they say the Lord does not see them\par doing those bad things!\par They say the God of Israel doesn’t know\par what is happening.\par

⁸ You bad people are foolish.\par When will you learn your lesson?\par You evil people are so stupid!\par You must try to understand.\par

⁹ God made our ears,\par so surely he \{has ears too,\par and\} can hear what is happening!\par God made our eyes,\par so surely he \{has eyes too,\par and\} can see what is happening!\par

¹⁰ God will discipline those people.\par God will teach people what they should do.\par

¹¹ God knows what people are thinking.\par God knows people are like a puff of wind.\par

¹² The man that the Lord disciplines\par will be very happy.\par God will teach that person\par the right way of living.\par

¹³ God, you will help that person stay calm\par when trouble comes.\par You will help him stay calm\par until the evil people are put in their grave.\par

¹⁴ The Lord will not leave his people.\par He will not leave them without help.\par

¹⁵ Justice will return,\par and it will bring fairness.\par And then there will be good, honest people.\par

¹⁶ No person helped me fight\par against the evil people.\par No person stood with me to fight\par against the people who do bad things.\par

¹⁷ And if the Lord had not helped me,\par I would have been silenced by death.\par

¹⁸ I know I was ready to fall,\par but the Lord supported his follower.\par

¹⁹ I was very worried and upset.\par But Lord, you comforted me\par and made me happy!\par

²⁰ God, you don’t help crooked judges.\par Those bad judges use the law\par to make life hard for the people.\par

²¹ Those judges attack good people.\par They say that innocent people are guilty\par and kill them.\par

²² But the Lord is my place of safety\par high on the mountain.\par God my Rock, {\cf2\super [524]} is my safe place!\par

²³ God will punish those evil judges\par for the bad things they did.\par God will destroy them\par because they sinned.\par The Lord our God will destroy\par those evil judges.\par
