Psalm 82 - Easy To Read Version

¹ God stands in the assembly of the gods. {\cf2\super [472]} \par He is the judge in that meeting of the gods.\par

² God says,\par “How long will you judge people unfairly?\par How long will you let wicked people go free without punishment?”\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [473]})\i0 \par

³ “Defend the poor people and orphans. {\cf2\super [474]} \par Protect the rights of those poor people.\par

⁴ Help those poor, helpless people.\par Save them from evil people.\par

⁵ “They {\cf2\super [475]} don’t know what is happening.\par They don’t understand!\par They don’t know what they are doing,\par Their world is falling down around them!”\par

⁶ I (God) say,\par “You are gods.\par You are sons of God Most-High.\par

⁷ But you will die\par the same as all people must die.\par You will die\par the same as all the other leaders.”\par

⁸ Get up, God!\par You be the judge!\par God, you be the leader\par over all the nations!\par
