Psalm 17 - Easy To Read Version1 Lord, hear my prayer for fairness.\par I am calling loudly to you.\par And I am being honest in the things I say.\par So, please listen to my prayer.\par 2 You will make the right decision about me.\par You can see the truth.\par 3 You have looked deep into my heart.\par You were with me all night.\par You questioned me\par and found nothing wrong.\par I didn’t plan any bad thing.\par 4 I have tried as hard as humanly possible\par to obey your commands.\par 5 I have followed your paths.\par My feet never left your way of living.\par 6 Every time I called to you, God, you answered me.\par So listen to me now.\par 7 God, you help people who trust you—\par those people stand by your right side.\par So listen to this prayer\par from one of your followers.\par 8 Protect me like the pupil {\cf2\super [90]} of your eye.\par Hide me in the shadow of your wings.\par 9 Lord, save me from the bad people\par who are trying to ruin me.\par Protect me from the people around me\par who are trying to hurt me.\par 10 Those bad people have become too proud \{to listen to God\}.\par And they brag about themselves.\par 11 Those people chased me.\par Now they are all around me.\par And they are ready to attack. {\cf2\super [91]} \par 12 Those bad people are like lions\par waiting to kill and eat another animal.\par They hide like lions, ready to attack.\par 13 Lord, get up {\cf2\super [92]} and go to the enemy.\par Make them surrender.\par Use your sword and save me\par from the bad people.\par 14 Lord, use your power and remove\par bad people from the \{land of\} the living.\par 15 \{I prayed for\} fairness.\par So I will see your face, Lord.\par And seeing you, Lord, {\cf2\super [93]} \par I will be fully satisfied.\par |
