Psalm 116 - Easy To Read Version

¹ I love it when the the Lord hears\par my prayers.\par

² I love it when he listens to me\par when I call for help.\par

³ \{I almost died!\}\par Death’s ropes were wrapped around me.\par The grave was closing in around me.\par I was scared and worried.\par

⁴ Then I called on the Lord’s name.\par I said:\par “Lord, save me!”\par

⁵ The Lord is good and merciful.\par God is kind.\par

⁶ The Lord takes care of helpless people.\par I was without help,\par and the Lord saved me.\par

⁷ My soul, relax!\par The Lord is caring for you.\par

⁸ God, you saved my soul from death.\par You stopped my tears.\par You kept me from falling.\par

⁹ I will continue to serve the Lord\par in the land of the living.\par

¹⁰ I continued believing even when I said,\par “I am ruined!”\par

¹¹ Yes, even when I was afraid and said,\par “All men are liars!”\par

¹² What can I give to the Lord?\par The Lord gave me everything I have!\par

¹³ He saved me,\par so I will give him a drink offering.\par And I will call on the Lord’s name.\par

¹⁴ I will give the Lord the things I promised.\par I will go in front of all his people now.\par

¹⁵ The death of one of the Lord’s followers\par is very important to the Lord.\par Lord, I am one of your servants!\par

¹⁶ I am your servant,\par a child of one of your servant women.\par Lord, you were my first teacher!\par

¹⁷ I will give you a thank offering.\par I will call on the Lord’s name.\par

¹⁸ I will give the Lord the things I promised.\par I will go in front of all his people now.\par
