2 Chronicles 3 - Easy To Read Version1 Solomon began building the Lord’s temple {\cf2\super [22]} at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah. Mount Moriah is the place where the Lord came to David, Solomon’s father. Solomon built the temple on the place that David had made ready. This place was at the threshing floor {\cf2\super [23]} that had belonged to Araunah {\cf2\super [24]} the Jebusite. 2 Solomon started the work in the second month of his fourth year as king of Israel. 3 These are the measurements Solomon used for building the foundation of God’s temple. {\cf2\super [25]} The foundation was 60 cubits {\cf2\super [26]} long and 20 cubits {\cf2\super [27]} wide. Solomon used the old cubit measure when he measured the temple. 4 The porch in front of the temple was 20 cubits {\cf2\super [28]} long and 20 cubits high. {\cf2\super [29]} Solomon covered the inside of the porch with pure gold. 5 Solomon put panels made of cypress wood on the walls of the larger room. Then he put pure gold over the cypress panels. And he put pictures of palm trees and chains on the pure gold. 6 Solomon put valuable stones in the temple for beauty. The gold Solomon used was gold from Parvaim. {\cf2\super [30]} 7 Solomon covered the inside of the temple with the gold. Solomon put the gold on the ceiling beams, doorposts, walls, and doors. Solomon carved Cherub angels on the walls. 8 Then Solomon made the Most Holy Place. {\cf2\super [31]} The Most Holy Place was 20 cubits {\cf2\super [32]} long and 20 cubits {\cf2\super [33]} wide. It was as wide as the temple {\cf2\super [34]} was. Solomon put pure gold on the walls of the Most Holy Place. The gold weighed about 23 tons. {\cf2\super [35]} 9 The gold nails weighed 1 1/4 pounds. {\cf2\super [36]} Solomon covered the upper rooms with gold. 10 Solomon made two Cherub angels {\cf2\super [37]} to put in the Most Holy Place. The workers covered the Cherub angels with gold. 11 Each wing of the Cherub angels was 5 cubits {\cf2\super [38]} long. The total length of the wings was 20 cubits. {\cf2\super [39]} One wing of the first Cherub angel touched the wall on one side of the room. The other wing touched one wing of the second Cherub angel. 12 And the other wing of the second Cherub angel touched the other wall on the other side of the room. 13 The Cherub angels’ wings covered a total of 20 cubits. {\cf2\super [40]} The Cherub angels stood looking inside toward the Holy Place. {\cf2\super [41]} 14 Solomon made the curtain {\cf2\super [42]} by using blue, purple, and red materials and expensive linen. {\cf2\super [43]} Solomon made Cherub angels on the curtain. 15 Solomon put two columns in front of the temple. {\cf2\super [44]} The columns were 35 cubits {\cf2\super [45]} tall. The top part of the two columns was 5 cubits {\cf2\super [46]} long. 16 Solomon made chains in a necklace. He put the chains on the tops of the columns. Solomon made 100 pomegranates {\cf2\super [47]} and put them on the chains. 17 Then Solomon put the columns up in front of the temple. One column stood on the right side. The other column stood on the left side. Solomon named the column on the right side “Jakin.” {\cf2\super [48]} And Solomon named the column on the left side “Boaz.” {\cf2\super [49]} |
