Why do you strive against ʜɪᴍ, because ʜᴇ doesn’t give account of any of ʜɪꜱ matters?

I declare the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done. I say: My counsel will stand, and I will do all that I please.

In that same hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I publicly acknowledge you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in your sight.”

saying, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me. Yet not my will, but yours be done.”

Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his garments among them by casting lots.

So they took away the stone. Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.

“Now my soul is troubled. What should I say? ‘Father, save me from this moment?’ But for this reason I have come to this moment.

Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came out of the sky, saying, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”

So then, ʜᴇ has mercy on whom ʜᴇ wants to, and ʜᴇ hardens whom ʜᴇ wants to.

We were also chosen as ʜɪꜱ inheritance, having been foreordained according to the purpose of ʜɪᴍ who does all things according to the counsel of ʜɪꜱ will,

making known to us the mystery of ʜɪꜱ will, according to ʜɪꜱ good pleasure which ʜᴇ purposed in him

according to the eternal purpose which ʜᴇ accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not through our works, but through ʜɪꜱ own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,
