They were baptized by him in the Jordan, publicly acknowledging their sins.
But he spoke emphatically, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you.” They all said the same thing.
He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet, not what I will, but what you will.”
Peter said to him, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
Remember what I told y’all: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute y’all. If they obey my word, they will obey y’all’s too.
