Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.


Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the empire, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.


Immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.


As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the house of Simon and Andrew.


The whole city was gathered at the door.


He went throughout all Galilee preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.


He left that place and came into the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Again, crowds gathered around him, and as was his custom, he began to teach them.


When he returned to Capernaum after several days, people heard that he was home.


He entered the synagogue again, and there was a man there whose hand was withered.


When the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things?” and, “What is the wisdom that is given to him? What kind of power comes through his hands?


And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades!


Now Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath,


Then he went to Nazareth where he had been brought up. As was his custom, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day. He stood up to read,


Jesus said to them, “No doubt y’all will quote to me this proverb, ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ and say, ‘Do here in your hometown what we heard you did in Capernaum.’”


As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,


Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue, attempting to persuade Jews and Greeks.
