Although Herod wanted to put him to death, he feared the crowd, because they considered him a prophet.
But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ we fear the crowd, for all hold John as a prophet.”
They were seeking a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd, because they considered him to be a prophet.
They said, “But not during the feast, so that the people don’t riot.”
Then they tried to seize him, but they feared the crowd, for they perceived that he spoken the parable against them. They left him and went away.
