For as often as I speak, I cry out; I cry, “Violence and destruction!” because the word of YHWH has been made a reproach to me, and a derision, all day.
To whom should I speak and testify, that they may hear? Look, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can’t listen. Indeed, the word of YHWH has become a reproach to them. They have no delight in it.
He said, “Woe to y’all legal experts as well! For y’all load humans down with burdens that are difficult to carry, but y’all won’t even lift a finger to touch the burdens.
Woe to y’all legal experts! For y’all have taken away the key of knowledge. Y’all have not entered in, and y’all hindered those who were going in.”
But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God for them, because they had not been baptized by John.
The world can’t hate y’all, but it hates me, because I testify that its works are evil.
Some of the Pharisees with him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?”
