The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”


Say, ‘The king says, “Y’all must put this fellow in the prison and feed him only the bread and water of affliction, until I come in peace.”’”


But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there here a prophet of YHWH, that we may inquire of him?”


Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Quickly get Micaiah the son of Imlah.”


When Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”


but they mocked the messengers of God, despised ʜɪꜱ words, and scoffed at ʜɪꜱ prophets, until YHWH’s wrath arose against ʜɪꜱ people, until there was no remedy.


Evil will kill the wicked. Those who hate the righteous will be condemned.


A scoffer doesn’t love to be reproved; he will not go to the wise.


The bloodthirsty hate a person of integrity; and they seek the life of the upright.


Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you.


Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them, for the deeds of their hands will be paid back to them.


They tell the seers, “Y’all stop seeing visions!” and the prophets, “Y’all stop prophesying what is right to us. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy delusions.


YHWH, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: “Kings will see and rise up, princes, and they will worship, because of YHWH who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”


Then they said, “Come, y’all! Let’s devise plans against Jeremiah, for the law won’t be lost from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, y’all, and let’s strike him with the tongue, and let’s not give heed to any of his words.”


For I have heard the defaming of many: “Terror on every side! Y’all denounce him, and we will denounce him!” say all my familiar friends, those who watch for my fall. “Perhaps he will be deceived, and we will deceived him, and we will take our revenge on him.”


When Jehudi had read three or four columns, the king cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.

If a man walking in a spirit of falsehood lies, saying, “I will prophesy to you of wine and beer,” he would be the prophet of this people.


Should it be said, O house of Jacob, “Is the Spirit of YHWH angry? Are these his doings? Don’t my words do good to him who walks blamelessly?”


I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me.


Y’all will be hated by everyone for my name’s sake, but the one who endures to the end will be saved.


I have given them your word. The world hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.


The world can’t hate y’all, but it hates me, because I testify that its works are evil.


Have I now become y’all’s enemy by telling y’all the truth?
