that I will bless-bless you increase-increase your offspring like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gate of his enemies.


The messengers returned to Jacob, saying, “We came to your brother Esau. He is coming to meet you, and four hundred men are with him.”


Judah and Israel were numerous as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and making merry.


You must remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply y’all’s descendants as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to y’all’s descendants, and they will inherit it forever.’”


Yet the number of the children of Israel will be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or counted. And in the place where it was said to them, ‘Y’all are not my people,’ they will be called ‘Children of the living God.’


God is not a human, that he should lie, nor a son of a human, that he should repent. Has he said, and he won’t do it? Or has he spoken, and he won’t make it good?


Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.


If we are faithless, he remains faithful; for he cannot deny himself.”
