19 God is not a human, that he should lie, nor a son of a human, that he should repent. Has he said, and he won’t do it? Or has he spoken, and he won’t make it good?

Live in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you. For I will give to you, and to your offspring, all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.


Indeed, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.”


The dogs will eat he who belongs to Jeroboam who dies in the city; and the birds of the sky will eat he who dies in the field, for YHWH has spoken it.”’


This was the word of YHWH which he spoke to Jehu, saying, “Your sons to the fourth generation will sit on the throne of Israel.” So it came to pass.


Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, “If YHWH made windows in heaven, could this thing be?” Elisha said, “You will see it with your eyes, but will not eat of it.”


This was a small thing in your eyes, O God, but you have spoken of your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have respected me according to the standard of a man of high degree, YHWH God.


YHWH has sworn, and will not change his mind: “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”


YHWH has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: “I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.


Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has ʜᴇ, in anger, withheld ʜɪꜱ compassion?” Selah.


I will not break my covenant, nor alter what my lips have uttered.


Once I have sworn by my holiness, I will not lie to David.


and the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, will be few; for YHWH, the God of Israel, has spoken it.”


Yet he also is wise, and will bring disaster, and will not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of those who work iniquity.


The grass withers, and the flower fades, but the word of our God rises forever.”


I call a ravenous bird from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. Yes, I have spoken. I will also bring it to pass. I have planned. I will also do it.


so is my word that goes out of my mouth: it will not return to me void, but it will accomplish that which I please, and it will prosper in the thing I sent it to do.

I will not execute the fierceness of my anger. I will not return to destroy Ephraim, for I am God, and not man—the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath.


You will give truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.


For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it, because it will surely come. It won’t delay.


“I, YHWH, do not change. Therefore, sons of Jacob, y’all have not come to an end.


I, YHWH, have spoken. I will surely do this to all this evil congregation who are gathered together against me. In this wilderness they will be consumed, and there they will die.”


He took up his parable, and said, “Rise up, Balak, and hear! Listen to me, you son of Zippor.


Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.


since God’s gifts and calling are irrevocable.


But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all who are from Israel are truly Israel.


If we are faithless, he remains faithful; for he cannot deny himself.”


in the hope of eternal life, which the unlying God promised before time eternal,


so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.


but Jesus did so through an oath by the one who said to him, “The Lord [YHWH] swore and will not change his mind, ‘You are a priest forever.’”


Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.


Or do y’all think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously”?


Nothing failed of any good thing which YHWH had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.


Also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent; for he is not a man, that he should repent.”


In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from the beginning even to the end.
