The servant took ten of his master’s camels, and departed, having a variety of good things of his master’s with him. He arose, and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor.


He made the camels kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time when women go out to draw water.


See, I am standing by the spring of water. The daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water.


There all the flocks were gathered. They rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone back on the well’s mouth in its place.


Hᴇ makes me lie down in green pastures. Hᴇ leads me beside still waters.


They will not hunger or thirst; neither will the heat nor sun strike them, for ʜᴇ who has mercy on them will lead them. Hᴇ will guide them by springs of water.


but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again. Indeed, the water that I will give them will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”
