Now when Jesus heard that John had been imprisoned, he withdrew to Galilee.
Jesus said to the chief priests, officers of the temple guard, and elders, who had come against him, “Have y’all come out with swords and clubs as if I were an outlaw?
They seized him, led him away, and brought him into the house of the high priest. But Peter was following at a distance.
So the detachment of soldiers with its commanding officer and the Jewish officials seized Jesus and bound him,
which incited the people, the elders, and the scribes. Then they came up to him, seized him, and took him to the Sanhedrin.
But Saul began ravaging the church. He entered every house, dragging out men and women and putting them into prison.
and requested letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them to Jerusalem bound in chains.
