While he was still speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers stood outside, wanting to talk to him.
Many women who had followed Jesus from Galilee and cared for his needs were there, watching from a distance.
There were also women watching from afar. Among them were Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome.
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might come and anoint him.
If y’all then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to y’all’s children, how much more will y’all’s heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask ʜɪᴍ?”
Then Jesus told them a parable about the need to always pray and not give up.
But all who knew him, including the women who followed with him from Galilee, stood at a distance, seeing these things.
The women who had come with him out of Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how his body was placed.
Now it was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who were telling these things to the apostles.
They got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem. They found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together,
Some people told him, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.”
Now when the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer.
Every day, they devoted themselves to being of one mind in the temple, and breaking bread in homes. They ate their food with gladness and sincerity of heart,
But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the deacon-work of the word.”
Therefore the person who speaks in a tongue should pray that they may interpret it.
Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and be watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints.
