So Absalom fled and went to Geshur, and was there three years.


Sons were born to David in Hebron. His firstborn was Amnon, by Ahinoam the Jezreelite;


his second, Chileab, by Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination— how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind!


Look, y’all fast with strife and contention, and in striking each other with wicked fists. Y’all cannot fast as you do today and have y’all’s voice be heard on high.


He sent them to Bethlehem, and said, “Y’all go and search carefully for the child. When y’all find him, report to me, so that I also may come and worship him.”


“Woe to y’all, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Y’all keep shutting humans out of the Empire of Heaven. For y’all do not enter it, but neither to do allow others to enter.


Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the middle of his brothers. Then the Spirit of YHWH came mightily on David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.
