“This is what YHWH says: ‘I am going to raise up evil against you out of your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he will lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.


The king said to them, “Y’all are to take with you* the servants of your* lord, and have Solomon my son to ride on my own mule, and y’all bring him down to Gihon.


Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, “I will be king.” So he prepared chariots, horsemen, and fifty men to run ahead of him.


Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of YHWH our God.


When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.


Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.


The one who loves disobedience loves strife. Whoever builds a high gate seeks destruction.


However, he must not accumulate horses for himself, or cause the people to return to Egypt, for the purpose of accumulating horses, because YHWH has said to y’all, “Y’all must not go back that way again.”


He said, “This will be the rights of the king who will reign over y’all: he will take y’all’s sons and appoint them as his servants among his chariots and horsemen, and they will run before his chariots.
