Jacob loved Rachel. He said, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter.”


Jacob served seven years for Rachel. They seemed to him but a few days, for the love he had for her.


His soul joined to Dinah, the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the young woman, and spoke kindly to the young woman.


the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they took any that they wanted for themselves as wives.


At evening, David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. From the roof, he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to look at.


Then Amnon hated her with intense hatred. He hated her more he had loved her. Amnon said to her, “Get up and get out!”


Amnon was so troubled that he became sick because of his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed hard to Amnon to do anything to her.


Three sons were born to Absalom, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar. She was a woman with a beautiful face.


Now King Solomon loved many foreign women, in addition to the daughter of Pharaoh: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites,


the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur; the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;


All these were the sons of David, in addition to the sons of the concubines; and Tamar was their sister.


Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears YHWH will be praised.


Don’t lust after her beauty in your heart, neither let her captivate you with her eyelids.
