and blindfolded him, and smote his face. And asked him saying: Arede who it is that smote thee?


The scribes, and pharises watched him, to see whether he would heal on the saboth day or not, that they might find an accusation against him.


Iesus answered him: If I have evil spoken, bear witness of the evil: if I have well spoken, why smitest thou me?


¶ Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why rather suffer ye not wrong? why rather suffer ye not yourselves to be robbed?


See that none recompense evil for evil unto any man: but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.


For ye have not yet resisted unto bloodshedding, striving against sin.


Ye have condemned and have killed the just, and he hath not resisted you.


not rendering evil for evil, neither rebuke for rebuke: but contrariwise, bless: remembering that ye are thereunto called, even that ye should be heirs of blessing.
