He answered, and said unto them: Have ye not read, how that he which made man at the beginning, made them man and woman?


and said unto him: hearest thou what these say? Iesus said unto them: have ye never read, of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast ordained praise?


¶ Iesus said unto them: did ye never read in the scriptures? The same stone which the builders refused, is set in the principal part of the corner: this was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.


¶ As touching the resurrection of the dead: have ye not read what is said unto you of God, which sayeth:


And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, at the last he was an hungered.


There were seven brethren and the first took a wife, and when he died left no seed behind him.


As touching the dead, that they shall rise again: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him saying: I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob?


And the pharises said unto him: Take heed why do they on the saboth day that which is unlawful?


How they went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the hallowed loaves, which is not lawful but for the priests only to eat: and gave also to them which were with him?
